I Switched From the iPhone 16 Pro Max to the iPhone 16E for One Week
…and it surprised me
Some YouTube comments immediately catch my attention. And, no, I’m not talking about the knuckle-dragging trolls — I’m talking about stuff like this, which was left against my Tech Diary video reaction to the new iPhone 16e:
“I have become increasingly niggled by my 16 Pro Max which is really just last year’s phone again. The unnecessary camera control button isn’t even much use as a shutter and Apple Intelligence is pretty rubbish whatever iPhone you have. In a moment of enlightenment I put the 16 Pro Max on eBay and ordered the 16e which was delivered today. It’s such a breath of fresh air — simple, unpretentious, compact and a throwback to what was I think a better time for tech. I realise now that I really couldn’t care less about MagSafe, ProMotion, Dynamic Island and all the other nonsense we’ve been sold over the years.”
While I don’t agree that developments like the Dynamic Island, MagSafe, and ProMotion are “nonsense”, our friend above does make a very valid point and I think hits on the biggest issue within the smartphone industry.
