The latest iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 beta released by Apple ask users to choose the default music streaming service.

According to a report by a Reddit user, Siri has a new feature of choosing the default music streaming app. In the first Beta version of iOS 14.5, Siri allows users to choose the default app for all the Siri music requests. Siri shows all the music applications that are integrated with Siri via Apple official API.

Before iOS 14.5 Beta, users are required to mention from which music streaming service they want to play the music. Now users can set the default music streaming app and Siri automatically plays music from that service without mentioning the name. For example, something like “Hey Siri, play Billie Eilish on Spotify” can be shortened to just “Hey Siri, play Billie Eilish”
