iOS 15.2 Brings Parental Control To iMessage And Data App Overview
This is an important innovation for the App Store
Two days after the release of iOS 15.1 for everyone, Apple has already released the next beta. The successor has version number 15.2 and is currently only available to developers.
However, we expect a public beta tonight. The manufacturer fixes several errors, especially in the background: In the case of terminated subscriptions that were automatically renewed during testing, some inadequacies on the surface when scrolling or filling in the lines were fixed. There are two important new features for users in iOS 15.2 Beta 1.
Data Overview of the Apps Used
In the Settings app under “Data protection” and further under “Data protection report of the apps” you can activate a summary of which apps use which iPhone data and how often.
The users can see which apps are reading the smartphone’s data, which sensors they are accessing, and how often this app goes online. An app appears in this evaluation if it has been used at least once.
New SOS Procedure
The emergency call can now be made using two methods: Either you press the side button together with the volume up or down button, or you press the side button five times or more in quick succession.
Apple has slowed down the countdown from eight to one a little until the emergency call so that such an emergency call is canceled in good time if the buttons are pressed accidentally.
Abuse Warning In iMessage
Back in the summer, Apple announced that it would implement some steps against child abuse in iOS and other systems. This led to a discussion among users and experts so that Apple postponed these plans.
In iOS 15.2, here are some of the announced innovations: Parents can protect their children from abuse by implementing the following safeguards: Suspicious images are only displayed blurred, they are only fully loaded after consent.
The parent or one of the parents may still receive a notification that the child is receiving strange images through iMessage.
iOS 15.2 Availability
We expect a public beta for all interested testers in the next few days, possibly tonight. A final version can be expected by the end of the year, probably around mid-December: iOS 14.3 in the first beta was released in November, for example, and the final version was released to all users in mid-December.
