iOS 15 may offer redesigned Control Centre, Touch ID said to make a return
New speculation around the upcoming iOS 15
Apple will bring the iOS 15 later this year, but months before its debut, several speculations have arisen around the next version of Apple’s OS. As per recent ones, the iOS 15 will feature a new Control Center design, taking inspiration from macOS Big Sur.
The information comes from a tipster on Twitter. A thread of tweets by user @Jioriku informs the readers of several updates that are expected from Apple later this year. These contain hints on the iPhone 13 lineup, iOS 15, and other decisions yet to be implemented by Apple.
McGuire Wood indicates that the iOS 15 will come with a new Control Center design in the tweets. Apple brought out the last major update to the Control Center in iOS 14, wherein it added several features to it, along with the ability to customise it further. Another rework on the same is expected to introduce more such customisable options.
Wood notes that the update might be seen late in the beta program if it is released in the beta versions at all before the final release. We can also expect full animations and AR tracking on the new iOS versions, along with support for AirTags. In addition, Apple is working on a first-party API to let developers use multi-factor authentication — both Touch and Face ID — for the first time ever. It can easily be understood how the feature can help users access information in more than one manner.
Apart from the iOS 15, Wood also drops hints on the upcoming lineup, stating that we can expect to see the Face ID on the Mac this year. He also cites sources telling him of displays for the iMac with Face ID cutouts behind the bezel.
A foreseen but a big revelation around the upcoming iPhones is that of a 1TB model for the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Wood asks readers to expect this to be the “final decision.”
Of course, none of these speculations has been confirmed by the Cupertino tech giant as of now. So even if the feature you seek out of the upcoming iOS 15 seems to be headed your way, do not get your hopes too high just yet.
