iOS 17.1 Beta 1 Released — What’s New? (14 New Features!)

For me, it’s as exciting as the original iOS 17

Thanks to my Apple Developer Program subscription and a secondary iPhone 14 Pro that I’m getting to experience iOS updates months before they’re out to the public.

We’ve lately got iOS 17.1, the first major update after iOS 17. And there are over 14 significant new features in the update.

Here’s my personal experience with each of the features, and description on how they could help make your life easier.

#1. Watch YouTube videos till 2160p (4k) on Safari

Here’s a trick I never told you (apologies):

I don’t use YouTube app on my iPhone. Why?

• It’s a cue to open it and waste my time.
• I can’t block ads in the app.

So I use YouTube on Safari instead. That way I can block ads using CleanVPN or AdBlock extensions and watch videos uninterruptedly.

However the only drawback was that I could only watch videos in 720p (max) quality — even if they’re uploaded in 2160p.
