iPad Air 5 or iPad Pro 11"?

When both are powered by M1

Since the introduction of the iPad Air 5 with M1 chip, the line up hasn’t been sitting straight for me. While it’s great that M1 has penetrated to the centre of the iPad lineup, it begs the question: is the Pro even worth it, especially now given that you can get a M1 chip on the Air 5?

I think, despite the lower cost, the trade offs with an iPad Air are too many. I’ve always found the iPad Air to be a device that is trying to fill a sweet spot, aims at it but misses. This has a lot to do with Apple’s decisions of adding storage, calculating cost and the number of features that are missing. The iPad can easily be compared to the 11 inch iPad Pro, but in my opinion, it falls short.

The iPad Air has a great pair of stereo speakers that sound pretty decent when you’re watching a movie or a video on YouTube. In recent years, Apple has been at the top of their game when it comes to making speakers for their devices. But when you compare them to the iPad Pro, you get quad speakers that sound superb while playing music with rich bass and they create a great sound stage.
