And why you should too

Though not different, the iPad Pro 12.9 inch and 11 inches have surely become the apple of the eye for many. With a revolutionary design and removal of the Touch ID home button, the expanded screen display comes with a lasting impression.

However, choosing between the two depends upon your needs. I choose the one with a 12.9' screen because it helps get things done that I would’ve preferred completing with my laptop. I need to take my laptop with me all the time and wanted something elegant and proactive that would offer similar perks.

The Best Display

The iPad Pro 12.9' is surely the right choice in this matter. Not only it comes with a slim bezel screen that is immaculate and elegant, it almost feels like I’m using my laptop. I get to enjoy A12X Bionic Processor and even get extended storage with a maximum to 1TB as well as cellular coverage.

Not to mention the display comes with a laminated screen accompanied by ProMotion technology, True Tone Technology, and P3 wide color displays. This makes this amazing pad even more amazing since all of this isn’t present in a laptop and the immense portability also makes it desirable.

In addition, the 12-megapixel rear camera is able to record 4K vides while the front comes with a 7-megapixel camera capable of creating Animoji and Memoji. Moreover, it also comes with 4 speakers and USB type C.

Even though the size is the only thing that’s different between both models, the 12.9' size means more to display that the 11'. In addition, the Liquid Retina screen provides an even more immersive viewing experience than the laptop. The 12.9' model comes with 2732 x 2048 resolution contrary to the 2388 x x1668 resolution that comes with an 11" inch model.

The pixel densities for both models are 264ppi which makes no difference between them. However, it does come with differences compared to regular screens. The more the pixels are packed the enriched is the display. Hence, it’s a great feature that can surely be opted for.

A Better Typing Experience

Apart from the screen resolution, the size for both models differ. The 11-inch models measure 27.6 x 178.5mm while the 12.9' model measures 280.6 x 214.9mm. The one that I picked comes ready with length and width that makes it a great choice. Even though it’s a bit bulky, it still makes a great choice for those looking to have a laptop-sized screen without the keyboard.

Another appealing element about it is that it allows enjoying the keyboard far better than the 11' one. You don’t have to worry about using a cramped keyboard which is surely an issue for the 11' one. The keyboard on the 12.9' inch takes even less than the half of the screen, making it easier for typing on the screen without having to exit the keyboard again and again. This issue remains persistent for the 11' one.

Another thing about it is that there’s no need to be worried about keypresses and feels. With the fingers gaining muscle sense by using the keypad, adjusting to it isn’t an issue. However, this isn’t achieved with the 11' iPad Pro as aligning with the keyboard means you’ll have to readjust your fingers according to the key sizes.

One of the many reasons why I opted for the 12.9' iPad Pro is the immense power and performance that allows multitasking on the go. Using this model makes it easier for handling things and tasks that can be done with a laptop. However, such multitasking power cannot be achieved using the 11' model.

Split View is just Better

Another perk that I got is the multiscreen establishment that allows opening different applications in a split view. This makes it easier to watch a video as well as review a document without having a cramped space. This perk is only present with a 12.9' model, as each split view can get at least 6" inches compared with the 5.5" inch view that one gets with the 11' model.

With less space for opening split apps and even less space when using the keyboard, I find the 12.9' hugely favorable in this matter. There’s plenty of space that you can use. You can handle Twitter feed while news or any second task is occurring in the background. No worries about managing the tasks as it can be done easily.

When it comes to portability, the 11' model takes the one. Obviously, it comes with a compact size which makes it portable and easy to handle. However, the 12.9' one is heavier, almost as heavy as a notebook laptop is. There’s surely an issue when it comes to portability. Carrying such a big iPad is risky and needs to be carried with precautions so that any issue can be mitigated.

Overall, the perks it offers are something that I cannot overlook. Even though the 11' model is way more suitable for media consumption, I truly prefer the 12.9' one in comparison to it. The reason is that it comes with a compact size, which makes it pretty much comfortable for reading, playing games, or watching videos. Although all of this can easily be done with the 12.9' and who wouldn’t want a bigger screen to watch a video? Still, the comfort that one gets from holding a compact size pad isn’t available with the 12.9' model but that doesn’t diminish its appeal.

When it comes to prices, the 11'one surely comes $200 cheaper than the 12.9” one. However, that isn’t anything that made me change my mind. I prefer using the 12.9' iPad Pro because it comes packed with splendid features, immaculate screen size, and gives the right kind of appeal. Moreover, it suits perfectly to my niche, fits right in my hands, and provides the workability that I would surely prefer when I’m not using my laptop. To those looking for a substitute, the 12.9' iPad Pro is the perfect option that you can pick.
