iPhone 16: Continuing Apple’s accelerated innovation

Apple is undoubtedly taking a shortcut in reusing the current concept of the iPhone 15 design for future model release known as iPhone 16. Put briefly, a representative from Apple, Ming-Chi Kuo reveals that the devices will not have any “major design differentiated features” and lists two important reasons which should be taken into consideration in the iPhone 17.

The iPhone 16 will remain largely the same because basic and typical architecture in general does not change. This is true even though Apple will be mounting a bigger display on the Pro variants and a new catch button. But the shape itself will not obviously change a lot.

Anyone waiting for this will probably have to wait until the iPhone 17. Apple is only expected to put more effort into the successor to the next generation of cell phones. The well-known and well-informed expert Ming-Chi Kuo postulates: “Apple is expected to launch new iPhone models with significant design changes and the more comprehensive/differentiated GenAI ecosystem/applications in 2025 at the earliest.” Kuo refers here to so-called generative AI functions (source: MacRumors).
