iPhone 16e — A Big Slap in the Face!
An iPhone that takes a major leap backwards
Apple just announced the latest and final addition to this year’s iPhone lineup, and oh man, does it yell ‘useless’! This has to be hands down the most redundant iPhone ever. Even the iPhone 5c makes sense to me after looking at the announcement video of the 16e.
At least, the iPhone 5c had a colourful cheap plastic body that made it distinct from the latest iPhones at the time. Sadly, we can’t even say that about the 16e. The iPhone 16e is basically a downgraded version of the iPhone 16 which is a downgraded version of the 16 Pro. What next, the all-new iPhone 16c with no camera and a home button?
Although I had heard the rumours of this iPhone 16e (presumed as SE 4) several months back, I didn’t expect it to be as terrible as the leaks suggested. On one hand, Apple talks about saving the environment by cutting down on the usage of extra resources (remember the reason for no longer providing a power adapter in the box?), and on the other hand Apple comes up with a new iPhone that holds zero relevance in the lineup.
