iPhone 16e vs Pixel 8a
The only comparison you need to worry about — There is a strong arguement that the average customer pays way more than they need to for a smartphone. Upsold to excessive models they do not need by staff on commission or YouTubers chasing views, how many of us really use everything our phones offer? Thrifty customers looking to save money can more than halve the amount of money they think they need to pay for a phone by picking a device from the ‘mid-range’. This market is incredibly competitive, yet also the most profitable. Indeed Samsung makes more money from cheaper handsets than its expensive ones.
It is into this market that Apple have just launched their latest handset, the iPhone 16e. Whilst its £$599 price is perhaps pushing the limits of what one might consider to be a ‘budget’ price (replacing the much cheaper £$400 iPhone SE 3) for people looking to upgrade their older handsets or wanting to make the switch from Android, its now the lowest price you can pay without considering a refurb. The 16e comes at a time though when Android manufacturers have seriously upped their game in terms of value for money. Depending on your needs you might consider the Nothing 2a, the Samsung A55 or the OnePlus Nord 4. For many users it is the creator of Android that they will turn to, Google and their Pixel brand.
