Apple is planning to enable lossless music support for its upcoming Airpods. This rumor is reported yesterday by one of the most accurate Apple leaker “Jon Prosser” on his video. He mentioned that Apple is working on a lossless audio quality feature on Apple music.

In his video, he says that this lossless audio quality feature will only work on the upcoming wireless devices like (Airpods 3, Airpods Pro 2, and Airpods Pro Max 2). This feature will not be available for older generation Airpods devices not even the $549 Apple Airpods Max.

Jon explained by saying:
it isn’t Apple’s fault that AirPods doesn’t support the lossless quality. It’s partially the fault of Bluetooth that is used to connect the iPhone and the AirPods. Bluetooth isn’t able to carry the amount of data lossless quality requires, and thus AirPods do not support Apple Music’s Lossless quality.

He also discussed a solution for this issue. He said Apple could use Apple Airplay technology to solve this problem very easily. Because Apple is not a company that introduces a feature that is not supported by other Apple devices. With Airplay your device would use Bluetooth to discover the Airpods as devices…
