MacBook TouchBar Flicker Fix

This article is written for those of you with a Touchbar flickering problem.

By this, I mean something like on video below.

After few days of digging, here is the summary of the problem:

• flickering happens only when Touchbar is not active
• flickering happens sort of randomly
• flickering does not happen in a login screen (before you enter your password)
• flickering appears in safe mode too
• reseting SMC or NVRAM doesn’t help
• reinstalling MacOS doesn’t help

From all I read, this is a hardware problem. And if your MacBook is off the guarantee, you will have to pay for something you don’t cause.

Because the Touchbar is not flickering while active, this activity of a touchbar is the basis of this fix.
