Meet the Worlds Smallest 5G phone
Apple’s new iPhone 12 Mini is the worlds smallest 5G phone starting at $699. It has an all-new design that has been completely re-engineered to support 5G capabilities. The 5.4 inch Super Retina XDR display is surprisingly too good to be true especially at this price point.
Apple claims that the iPhone 12 mini is the Smallest, Thinnest and Lightest 5G smartphone in the world. The device is power packed with Apples latest “A14 SoC chip” which is based on the 5 nm architecture and outlasts the computational segment in general.

The Design
The iPhone 12 mini comes up with a flat aerospace grade aluminum design just like what we’ve seen in the new iPad Air and older iPhone models. The structure consist of metallic antenna bands that allows effective transmission of 5G signals.
They’ve also hardened their display even further by adding a new layer of cutting-edge material so-called “Ceramic Shield”. What makes this unique is the high-temperature crystallization technique which allows Nano-ceramic crystals to form in the glass, thus making it both tough and optically clear.
Apple claims that the ceramic shield is tougher than any smartphone glass and has 4x better drop performance(But there’s still a sheet of glass on the back for you to break).
According to apple, Both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are IP68 splash, water(maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes), and dust resistant.
The iPhone 12 mini comes in 5 new stunning colors: Black ,White ,Red ,Green and the new Navy Blue.
The Camera
The iPhone 12 mini is also packed with a new Dual-Camera System, A Wide and Ultra Wide that supports Night Mode. As per the company, the new wide angle camera brings in 27% more light thereby improving the level of details and color accuracy .It also supports Smart HDR3 and Night Mode Time Lapse and selfies.
In the event, Apple also bragged a lot about their 4K HDR video with Dolby Vision which is coming across all their new iPhones later this year through a software update.
The Performance
When it comes to performance this lil one nailed it!, The iPhone 12 mini has the latest Apple A14 Bionic SoC chip which is based on the 5 nanometer architecture. According to apple, this chip has a 6 core CPU and a 4 core GPU which could crunch 11 trillion tasks per second. The neural engine is faster and the power efficient is effectively maintained.
In fact, This has enough horsepower to surpass the computing capabilities of mid-tier laptops and here’s why.
The Connectivity
For the first time ever, All the new iPhone 12 models will be supporting 5G Capability. This will drastically reduce the network latency and congestion especially in populated areas. In the event, they teamed up with network provider Verizon to showcase the enhanced download and upload speeds on ideal conditions.

Personally, I don’t see a reason in particular to switch to the Pro Models as there’s hardly any difference apart from a few addons and technical tweaks which matters mostly for professionals and tech enthusiasts.
