Let me introduce you to my top privacy apps for macOS in 2025.
MacOS is considered to be a secure and privacy-oriented system, but after checking my list, you may be surprised how many vectors of attacks are not being completely secured by Apple.
You need to take action on your own and decide if you want a bit more of a protection, with help of apps from my list.
ReiKey
Malware and other applications may install persistent keyboard “event taps” to intercept your keystrokes.
ReiKey can scan, detect, and monitor for such taps!
OverSight
Mac malware often spies on users by recording audio and video sessions…sometimes in an undetected manner.
OverSight monitors a mac’s mic and webcam, alerting the user when the internal mic is activated, or whenever a process accesses the webcam.
OverSight is a great App, but I still recommend having a thin physical camera cover or piece of a duct tape 🛠 This will allow you to be 100% sure that your privacy in front of the computer is protected.
