Apple officially announced its new iteration of iOS dubbed as iOS 14 during WWDC 2020 Keynote. There were some big new additions to the OS which were years in the making. But certain other OS users are pointing out some of the new features in iOS 14 were available since the dawn of their beloved OS.

Yeah, you guessed it right. It is Android!

Let’s take a look at the features Apple’s iOS 14 borrowed from Google’s Android.

Widgets

Apple finally added support for home screen widgets with iOS 14. Widgets on iOS are the biggest visual feature Apple has ever released. Giving the ability to choose from different widget sizes to pin them on the home screen. There is also a Smart Stack widget, which uses AI to present information based on location, activity, and time.

Though it’s a new addition to iOS, Android users were enjoying home screen widgets since the first iteration of the OS. Apple’s widget implementation in iOS after so many years of criticism from fans is still a welcoming one. Developers at XDA quoted iOS 14 widgets as “Apple’s iOS 14 finally has widgets and they might be better than Android’s”. iPhone users, Rejoice!
