New iPads are Coming in May
Here’s what to expect from the May 7th event.
Apple’s next big event has been slated for May 7th, 2024, and as with many of Cupertino’s events, we have a few clues as to what’s coming.
This time, we’re expecting an iPad refresh — with maybe a bit more thrown in.
The current generation iPad Pro was launched back in 2022, and Apple didn’t launch a single new tablet in 2023. The product line is clearly due for an update.
How do we know this is an iPad event?
Apple usually doesn’t explicitly tell us what will be launched at any given event ahead of time, but there are clues.
Apple has dubbed this event the “Let Loose” event. While that phrase can mean just about anything, the artwork accompanying the event announcement is telling.
A careful observer will notice the conspicuously inconspicuous Apple Pencil front and center. While I and many others would love for the Pencil to be compatible with some of Apple’s other products as well, it has up to this point been an accessory only for the iPad.
