Is buying a refurbished MacBook Pro a good idea? Does it come with an Apple Care warranty ? How much money do you save?

Apple products are known to be very pricy. But there is a way to shave off a few hundred dollars from an almost new MacBook Pro. You can get a refurbished Mac from Apple themselves.

What goes into a refurbished Mac?

All refurbished Mac models are backed by a one-year warranty, have free delivery and returns, and also include:

  • Full functional testing, genuine Apple part replacements (if necessary), and a thorough cleaning
  • The original Operating System or a more recent version
  • All refurbished devices are repackaged in a brand new box with all accessories and cables

Should you buy a refurbished Mac?

In my opinion, it’s a very wise idea to save a few hundred dollars with getting an almost new Mac.

As long as you don't care about having it “brand new” you can get an amazing deal on many Macs.

You can even get faster shipping on these Macs because they are already built and in stock. If you customize your new Mac you may have to wait a couple of weeks to receive it.

It’s like buying a used car. It may not be 100%. But you don’t have to pay top dollar for it either. It’s still a great piece of equipment at a much lower cost.

How Much Money do you save?

We are just going to look at the 13" and the 16" MacBooks Pros for this article.

For 13" Macbook Pros, you can save from $170.00 to $480.00

For 16" MacBook Pros, you can save from $360.00 to $420.00

Even on the lower end, you can save almost $200 on an almost new MacBook Pro. The higher the model Computer the better the savings.

In Conclusion

So if you don’t care about getting a machine that is 100% new, has a one year Apple Care warranty, and costs a lot less, then you should go for the refurbished Macs and see what deals you can get.
