The Apple Magic Mouse is both a gem and a nightmare. While it looks stunning next to the Apple Keyboard, with the same descriptive adjective “Magic”, one of its features isn’t so magic at all — namely, the ergonomics.

Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE the Magic Keyboard. I think that for most people, the Magic Keyboard is likely a perfect end-game keyboard. But for most people, I think the Magic Mouse is not.

It’s unfortunate because the Magic Mouse has a nice glass-like surface with multi-touch built into it. It’s like having an Apple trackpad on your mouse. And I have yet to see any other trackpad perform like the Apple one.

Ergonomically, on the other hand, the Magic Mouse is not built for most hands or grips. There is nothing about it making it remotely ergonomic.

The Apple Magic Mouse looks amazing.

This is where several companies come in and say, “We really want the Magic Mouse to stay alive. Use our case”.
