Apple just released their best-rated Apps and Games across various devices for 2021. They go through a thorough review process, so that people can find the best app for the dedicated purpose.

“The developers who won App Store Awards in 2021 harnessed their own drive and vision to deliver the best apps and games of the year — sparking the creativity and passion of millions of users around the world” — Tim Cook

iPad App of the Year: LumaFusion, from LumaTouch.

LumaFusion is a powerful multitrack video editor used by mobile journalists, filmmakers, and professional video producers to tell compelling video stories. It is a great app with a nice Dark Mode UI design that makes it look Clean, Simple and Professional.

It costs $29.99 on the iPad App Store and is a great app to use.

Craft is a tool for creating beautiful documents and notes and sharing your thoughts. Everything you create in Craft can be shared with one tap. Craft supports inline markdown, backlinks, code snippets, images, videos, attaching PDF files, and rich link previews.

It is a writing app that helps people jot down heir thoughts and share their plans, articles and projects with other people.

Craft has a Professional plan that costs $44.99 / Year and I feel that it is totally worth it.

Apple TV App of the Year: DAZN, from DAZN Group.

DAZN is a global over-the-top sports subscription video streaming service. The service carries live and on-demand streaming of events from various properties as well as original programming.

It’s a great channel on Apple TV if you don’t have a cable provider. It is mainly for people who are interested in only watching sports. DAZN has all the sports events and channels that a sports fan would like to see.

DAZN costs $19.99 a month.

Apple Watch App of the Year: Carrot Weather, from Grailr.

Games

iPhone Game of the Year: “League of Legends: Wild Rift,” from Riot Games.

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a multiplayer online battle arena mobile game developed and published by Riot Games for Android and iOS. It’s a Phone version of the free-to-play game — PC game League of Legends.

This game is Free but like all games, does have in-App Purchases.

iPad Game of the Year: “MARVEL Future Revolution,” from Netmarble Corporation.

Yes, this is a Marvel game for all the Marvel fans out there!(including me). It’s not a PS4, PS5 style game but it still is pretty decent.

MARVEL Future Revolution is Marvel’s first Open World Action RPG mobile game. As members of the ‘Omega Flight’ team, players will work together to battle an onslaught of Super Villains, confront their nefarious behaviours and defend the universe.

This game is Free but like all games, does have in-App Purchases.

Mac Game of the Year: “Myst,” from Cyan.

Myst is a graphic adventure puzzle video game designed by the Miller brothers, Robyn and Rand. It is a game that really gets your mind working, in this game you will have to uncover a story of ruthless family betrayal, and make choices that will affect both you, and the world of Myst itself.

It is a graphic intensive game that looks absolutely Stunning!, the 3D render animations are spot on and look almost real.

The price of this game is $29.99, and is a one time fee.

Apple TV Game of the Year: “Space Marshals 3,” from Pixelbite.

It is a game where you join the rowdy Space Marshal crew on their latest misadventure in outer space. For an Apple TV, it is quite good as it is not meant to be gaming station.

The graphics of the game are quite good and may heat up the Apple TV due to thermal throttling of the graphics card.

This game is Free but like all games, does have in-App Purchases.

Apple Arcade Game of the Year: “Fantasian,” from Mistwalker.

Fantasian is an exciting, new RPG set against a spectacular backdrop made from nearly 160 handmade dioramas that blends physical environments and 3D characters. This not a proper 3D game as the characters are fighting on a 2D plane.

This game is free once you get the Apple Arcade Subscription.

Trend of the Year: Connection

In addition to recognizing the best apps and games on Apple devices, Apple’s global App Store editors name a Trend of the Year. The goal is to identify a movement that had lasting impact on people’s lives, and to recognize the standout apps and games that met that moment. The top trend of 2021 is “Connection.” This year’s trend winners brought people together in meaningful ways — while meeting social, personal, and professional needs for users around the world.

Peanut is creating space for honest conversations on every aspect of womanhood at every stage of life.

For more than a decade, Apple has honoured the best apps and games at the end of each year.
