Powerful Enough, But Not Too Expensive, The M3 iPad Air Aims To Strike A Perfect Balance. But Is This Apple’s Way Towards Redefining The iPad’s long-term identity?
It’s true what the fans say there’s no such thing as buying a bad iPad. And with the looks of last year’s sales, the device saw an overall 15 percent increase from Q3 and Q4 sales in 2024 compared to 2023.
However, all iPad categories but the iPad Air saw an increase in the percentage of sales they represented in the iPad device going from nearly a third of the sales to less than 15%. Somewhere along the line, iPad Air failed to live up to what was once known as the Goldilocks-perfect combo of features and price, as many later began to see the device as too expensive and not nearly good enough to justify buying it over the iPad Pro or the base model. Yet the iPad Air M3, seeks to fix this.
As Apple makes this attempt, it’s clear that they are still on the quest to find out what is the actual purpose behind the iPad. For the most part it’s seen as a hybrid between a iPhone and a Mac laptop, and while this explains the iPad base model, it still isn’t clear how to distinguish themselves from the other…
