The Minimalist’s Guide to Apple Productivity: 4 Hours, 3 Devices, 2x Output

Last month, I received an interesting message from a client: “I assumed you had a team of at least five people.”

That was music to my ears. The reality is that it’s just me, three Apple devices, and a carefully curated stack of productivity apps. On top of that, since I had a stroke, I only work four hours a day to allow for rest and rehab.

This isn’t another productivity hack article promising miraculous results. Instead, it’s a practical guide to how I leveraged Apple’s ecosystem to double my output while actually working less.

According to recent research by Microsoft’s Work Trend Index, 85% of business leaders say that the shift to hybrid work has made it challenging to have confidence that their employees are being productive. Yet, the same study found that 87% of employees report being more productive when working with fewer hours.

Here’s how I turned this insight into reality.

The Trinity: My Three-Device Setup

The core of my minimalist system revolves around three devices:

  • Mac-Mini Pro
  • iPad Pro 12.9"
  • iPhone 15 Pro
