Like the 7th generation iPad mini a few weeks ago, Apple has quietly released upgrades to a few devices within the Mac family — the colourful iMac, the cute Mac mini, and the already powerful MacBook Pro.

All these devices now come with the M4 chip powering them — and boy have they gotten even more powerful than they already were.

Let’s take a look at what we can expect from these devices once we’re able to get our hands on them in a week.

Mac mini

Despite being the smallest out of the 3, I think this upgrade is probably the biggest out of the lot — not because of the M4 chip, but because the Mac mini also got a new design to boot.

While it is slightly taller at 2 inches (previously it was 1.41 inches tall), it is now only 5 inches in width and depth (7.75 inches previously for both).

It now also only weighs between 1.5 to 1.6 pounds (M4 and M4 Pro chips respectively) compared to 2.6 to 2.8 pounds previously (M2 and M2 Pro chips respectively).

Now to the M4 chip.
