There’s Only One MacBook Pro You Should buy

As I write this the calendar shows January 2020. Apple released a slew of new MacBook Pros in 2019: new 13 and 15-inch models in the summer, a new lower-end 13-inch model in the fall, and most recently the new 16-inch model near the end of the year. There are a lot of options, but only one clear winner. If you’re in the market for a MacBook Pro you should buy the 16-inch model, here’s why.

Storage

Previously, the two stock models of the larger MacBook Pro offered 256gb SSD and 512gb SSD. The new 16-inch stock models offer 512gb SSD and 1tb SSD, at the same price point.

Speakers

The quality of sound emanating from the 16-inch MacBook Pro speakers is astounding, a definitive upgrade over all other models.

Keyboard

Apple seems to have caved under the overwhelming complaints about their butterfly keyboard. I didn’t mind the butterfly keyboards on the several different MacBooks I used over the years but I still stopped by the Apple Store more than once for sticky key cleaning. The fact that Apple continues to offer a free keyboard replacement on every MacBook sporting a butterfly keyboard is an admission that something went wrong.
