Third & Final Season Of “Dickinson,” Now Streaming On Apple TV+

Season 3 of one of Apple’s flagship shows, Dickinson, which launched alongside Apple TV+ is now streaming exclusively on Apple TV+. When the streaming service launched the entirety of the first season was available to stream right away, although this was largely to do with the lack of content available at launch. Season 3 sees the episodes each being made available weekly.

“Dickinson” is a half-hour comedy series which explores the constraints of society, gender and family. This is done through the eyes of poet Emily Dickinson. It is set during the 19th century. It is written and created by Alena Smith and starrs Hailee Steinfeld.

What will Season 3 be about?

Apple has released this synopsis for the second season: “In the third season, Emily Dickinson’s most productive time as an artist falls amid the raging American Civil War and an equally fierce battle that divides her own family. As Emily tries to heal the divides around her, she wonders if art can help keep hope alive, and whether the future can be better than the past.”

Who is in the cast?

Hailee Steinfeld continues her starring role as Emily Dickinson. Anna Baryshnikov (Lavinia Dickinson), Ella Hunt (Sue), Adrian Enscoe (Austin Dickinson), Jane Krakowski (Emily Norcross Dickinson), Toby Huss (Edward Dickinson), and Wiz Khalifa (Death) all return in season 3 to continue their roles in the series. Nick Kroll as Edgar Allan Poe, Timothy Simons as Frederick Law Olmsted, and Will Pullen as Nobody will also be reprising their roles after first making appearances in season 2.

The new castmembers include Ziwe, as Sojourner Truth; Billy Eichner will play Walt Whitman; and Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live ) who plays as Sylvia Plath.

Season 4?

Unfortunately not. Creator, Alena Smith, remarked that she has envisioned “Dickinson” as a three season show.
