Buying an iPad is getting easier.

The bad news? We still have no idea what Apple will do next, no matter what the rumours say, and, yes, even if all rumours say the same thing. The fact remains that only a select group of people who work for Apple know what’s in the pipeline.

This provides something of a challenge for people like yours truly who create iPad buying guides. After all, how can you recommend an Apple product when there’s always the distinct possibility that it might be replaced next week?

Let’s start there — before I dive into my definitive (at the time of writing) iPad buying guide for 2025.

Banking on Apple

Don’t. Ever.

I’ve been guilty of this myself. I’ve put off the purchase of iPads, MacBooks, and even Apple TVs because I couldn’t escape the fear of the latest and greatest becoming immediately obsolete a month later.

This was silly because whenever I eventually took the plunge, those fears quickly evaporated once I realised that the device I’d purchased was utterly brilliant and would last me an awfully long time.
