Under Display, TouchID and FaceID are coming in Next-Gen iPhones

A new Patent shows that Apple is working on new technology to detect light through the display for FaceID and TouchID.

A new patient by Apple shows that Apple is working on a technology that will help to detect light through the display. The technology can be used for under-display TouchID and FaceID for future iPhones.

If we check all the flagship smartphones of 2020, we can see that Apple iPhone 12 devices are the only devices in the market with the biggest display notch. Because notch in latest iPhones is housing a FaceID technology. Apple claims that FaceID is the most secure authentication method in any smartphone which is true. A new patient, filed by Apple shows that Apple is working on a new technology that will help to detect light through the display. This will help to decrease the size of the notch or remove the notch.

In the patent published on March 4th, 2021, with the title of “Sensing System for Detection of Light Incident to a Light Emitting Layer of an Electronic Device Display,”
