I remember watching the WWDC 2024 Keynote in June and feeling mostly unexcited — until they mentioned watchOS 11. It was the first time Apple talked about “Marathon Training,” and suddenly, they had my full attention. As a runner preparing for my first-ever Half-Marathon with my Watch Ultra 2, this update seemed like a game-changer, so updating to the iOS 18 beta on my iPhone was a no-brainer.
However, updating my Apple Watch to the watchOS beta was a tougher decision. Unlike iOS updates, there’s no way to downgrade your watchOS, so I held off. Over the summer, I tested as many new Health and Fitness updates as I could access with iOS 18 Developer Betas, and finally, when the public watchOS 11 update was released last month, I jumped on board.
