Apple is off the boil when it comes to disrupting markets. After abandoning its US$10 billion foray into cars, it pitched spatial computing — enter the Vision Pro.

No, it wasn’t just supposed to be a “unique movie-watching experience,” or make you “like flying economy class.” Apple positioned Vision Pro as the advent of a revolutionary new way to do computing:

“Extraordinary New Experiences”

“An infinite canvas for apps at work and at home”

“Engaging entertainment experiences”

“Memories come alive:”

“FaceTime becomes spatial”

Now some have implied, after Vision Pro’s lacklustre impact on the world, it was only ever a first generation product aimed at developers or bleeding-edge Apple fans. It was only supposed to gauge interest and point the way forward.
