In 2019, my first Apple Watch broke within three months, but instead of repairing it or buying a new one, I made the poorer choice of using it anyway.

In 2021, I finally got fed up and purchased an Apple Watch SE as the price fitted my budget, and I desperately needed an upgrade.

But after five years of using the smartwatch and recently seeing my brother look good in a Tommy Hilfiger, I tried using an analogue watch for one week.

Within a week, I decided not to return to Apple Watch.

This article is not a snark about the Apple Watch. It is for anyone already using it and wondering whether a traditional timepiece would suit them better.

Here are some reasons why a traditional chronograph is better than an Apple Watch, but your ultimate decision will be a mix of several factors.

Weigh your choices to make an informed decision.
