The newest member of the family seems to have brought a new set of disappointments for users. But is it really that disappointing or (diabolically) Apple’s smartest move?

From the makers of iPhone 3G, 3GS, 5C, X, XR, and SE, we now have a new single-alphabet suffixed iPhone model that Apple is calling the iPhone 16e — yes, it’s a smaller case ‘e’, in case you erred. The new 16e is supposed to be a successor to the third-generation iPhone SE from 2022 with a rather big jump in specs and design.
But since its announcement, it seems to be gaining only the wrong kind of attention with many loyal Apple users getting disappointed by either its lack of certain specs or higher-than-rumored price tag. And rightly so, because the expectations from a budget smartphone in 2025 are indeed higher if you were to think about the competition too.
Whether you are up in the market for this iPhone model or not, this will decide the fate of many future iPhone generations to come. I feel Apple has pulled a (diabolically) smart move here with the launch of this budget iPhone model so early in the year, and I have five good reasons to make you believe so…
