Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming solves one of the Mac’s biggest problems
Let’s face it, the Mac is nobody’s first choice of platform (hate that word) for gaming. Even if you can find a Mac with decent enough graphics to play the latest 3D games, you’re unlikely to find the latest 3D games on a Mac.
Salvation comes in the unlikely form of Microsoft. Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently still in beta, but it allows Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to play a decentish library of games through a web browser. The only real hardware you need is a Bluetooth-enabled Xbox controller to connect to your Mac.
I’ve been using the service for the past few weeks and it’s great, genuinely smashing, with the odd caveat.
How many games are available?
Lots, but not the full range of games that are available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
