Madaleno Releases Six Previous Years of Tax Returns

KENSINGTON, Md. — State Senator and Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Rich Madaleno today released his federal and state tax returns from the past six years. In doing so, he called upon all of the gubernatorial candidates seeking to lead Maryland to follow his example and release their tax returns for the past six years as well.

“In the wake of the Trumpism of politics and transparency, where even the most innocuous information is hidden from the public, Marylanders are demanding their leadership rise above. If you want to lead Maryland, you have to demonstrate openness, honesty and integrity. Publically releasing my tax returns shows how a Madaleno-Jenkins Administration will govern, with a level of transparency that sadly has been lost by many of today’s elected officials.”

“I call upon Governor Larry Hogan and my fellow Democratic gubernatorial candidates to follow my lead and release their past six years’ tax returns as well. We need to demonstrate that, regardless of the insulting indifference Donald Trump shows to the American people, we in Maryland will walk a different path and build trust and confidence between our people and those elected to represent them.”

Rich Madaleno has served Montgomery County for 16 years in the Maryland General Assembly. He is an expert on budget issues, serving as Vice-Chair of the Budget and Taxation Committee. Additionally, Rich has been a leader in passing legislation on key progressive issues like marriage equality, ensuring funding for Planned Parenthood, investing in education, gender identity anti-discrimination, and protecting the environment.
