I hesitated a long time before writing. Will I have enough time to draft an article on a weekly basis? Will the subjects be of interest to enough people?

Those past 7 years have been incredibly rich for me in terms of learning new things, starting by setting up our own company, making this business grow as quickly and steady as possible and then by moving to a new country — where I arrived quite naïve and got several slaps in the face (disappointments, setbacks, bad surprises, …) but which is probably the biggest experience of my life, personally as well as professionally.

Setting up a company in another country is, in my opinion, equal to studying an MBA but on the field.

Learning to work within a new culture, getting to know the traditions, even discovering that humor can be very different from one country to another, is today one of the major challenges in my life.

On the other hand, working in recruitment also reminds me every single day that every human is unique. Even if you train your teams how to control candidates and clients, a human being — contrary to a product — remains irrational and emotional. On top of that many unexpected things can happen between the 1st interview and the candidate’s placement.

That’s why today I have decided to share all those experiences with you. The purpose of this blog is to share my professional experiences in recruitment but also business practices and multicultural management.
