Lisk and MADANA — why we chose the Lisk Blockchain
Lisk and MADANA share a unique bond. As of late, you may have read that Max Kordek revealed MADANA to be the first startup that he personally supports out of his investment pool for the development of innovative Blockchain Applications on the Lisk platform. We are honored to be selected, and would like to thank the Lisk community and team for the tremendous work they have put into the Blockchain industry. In this statement, we intend to inform you about why we think Lisk is the perfect match for us, what connects Lisk and MADANA, and what will happen next in the development of our ecosystem.
Common roots
Many of you know Max Kordek as the co-founder and CEO of Lisk. But fewer know that he also did a lot of community work for our industry. Max co-founded one of Germany’s biggest Bitcoin meetups in 2014, Bitcoin Aachen Meetup, as well as the RWTH Aachen University student initiative “Bitcoin Aachen”. Up to our knowledge, this was the first official student initiative in Germany, run alongside his colleagues Christian Junger, Yan Schreier and Eugen Salkutzan, all of whom are currently in the MADANA team. When Max started to work on Lisk, we maintained the meetup and the student initiative, and supported Max in every way we could, even by investing in Lisk as early supporters. Therefore, we had a close watch on the development of Lisk and the Lisk community.
Why Lisk
MADANA is a platform for data analysis that needs a solid, scalable and fast Blockchain for its trust-layer, where all the participants in our ecosystem can be sure that all transactions and configurations they agreed upon are executed correctly. This requires a highly programmable Blockchain and the implementation of custom logic. Therefore, we initially looked at Ethereum, as it was the most common choice at the time. As the year 2017 came to an end, we came to the conclusion that the Ethereum Blockchain would not be capable of managing the workload we plan to execute with MADANA in the future. We researched various other Blockchain application platforms taking into account project funding, team, scalability, flexibility and usability and came to the conclusion that Lisk is the most promising choice as it showed two years of continuous development and very strong development funding.
The most important trait we sought for in a Blockchain was its maturity level. As a young startup we need to act fast and securely and cannot wait for the possible development of future features that Blockchain projects promise. Whilst most of the Blockchain platforms offer great teams, good project funding, and extraordinary visions, only one Blockchain will offer us powerful development tools, simple implementation, high scalability and a maturity level above any other project we examined so far. This Blockchain is Lisk.
Conclusion.
By meeting all of our requirements, Lisk was simply the right choice. It minimizes our strategic development risk and provides us with the transparency necessary for us to plan our next steps. The great financial positioning of the Lisk Foundation gives us the confidence that Lisk is able to fund their development in the decades to come. Having had many opportunities to meet the Lisk contractor, Lightcurve GmbH, we have no doubt that Lisk has a bright future. A future driven by passion, which we encountered at the WeWork Center in Berlin. Moreover, the upcoming release of the SDK fits perfectly with our strategic planning. Therefore, we are proud to announce that MADANA will be the first major ICO and Blockchain Application to be built on the Lisk Blockchain Application platform.
