Modern Handmade Lighting from Aleksandr Koval

Aleksandr Koval is a Kiev-based architect who has designed a collection of award-wining handmade lighting that seamlessly combines modern materials and designs. Currently offering two designs, the C-light and the S-light, Aleksandr’s work would look great in any modern retail or residential space. Take a look at his designs and then check out his Minimalmood collection at his main site and in his Etsy shop.

One note to the makers who regularly read IAMTHELAB: Most makers seem unaware of the advantages of using Behance to showcase their work. The ability to share your projects, even in beta form, is an invaluable tool. Not only does it allow you to share the behind-the-scenes of your creative process, it’s a great way to be discovered and featured. I share most of the posts that I create here on Behance and the exposure has been pretty phenomenal. If you haven’t considered sharing your handmade goods on Behance, I would recommend giving it a try. If you have any questions on how to maximize your posts there, drop me a note at [email protected]

If you would like to see how Behance promotes modern design, including a ton of handmade goods, check out their Served blogs, like this one dedicated to furniture design. Starting this month, I will be using more artists and makers who showcase their work on Behance. Makers need all the exposure they can get and I’m glad to do my part.

C-light is a collection of interior ceiling lamps. “C” stands for “cylinder”, which is the most convenient and simplest form for local lightning. The combination of modern materials, such as plywood and concrete, helps to create a great and rich variety of lightning combinations, able to satisfy any customer and complement any modern interior.
