Glide Connects.
Glide Connects.
An ask to vote for their SXSW 2016 panel.
On the day before the official start of SXSW last March, I had a chance to be with Chaim Haas and Sarah Glide at the Texas School for the Deaf to witness something beyond words.
¶
Watching hundreds of high school kids in a gym connecting and having fun using sign language and then using Glide as a way to communicate with their friends using real time video on their smart phones totally transformed the way they could reach and be heard anywhere in the world is transformative.

Above The Code: Startups really are rock and roll bands….
Insights from engaging with students on the Transdisciplinary Innovation Program at Hebrew University / Jerusalem.
Yesterday I was at Hebrew University of Jerusalem speaking to a group of student startups on the principles of startup communications.
¶

I call it “Above The Code,” because this is about…

Let’s stop saying “starving artist.”
Let’s stop saying “starving artist.”
My mom, Susie, is and always has been a rather eccentric ball of emotions and perceptions that she couldn’t adequately speak about; her…
brushstrokes spoke for her on the rare occasion that anyone was ‘listening.’ I think that she appreciated my curiosity as a toddler. She never said that to me, but she painted a picture of me playing with a raw egg. She thinks and speaks in visuals.
¶
My childhood memories involve lots of strange objects around the house (my personal favorite is the bottom half of a mannequin that my mom called Melissa) and a mom who was mostly nocturnal.
