The internet is filled with transparent PNGs that are perfect for use in your games.

But there are a lot of fake transparent PNGs to watch out for, so be sure to look for the signature white-and-grey checkered background, since we want the ability to isolate images from their backgrounds.

Here are a few ways you can easily find transparent images online.

  1. Go to google and type “transparent png” along with your search term. For example, let’s say you want to use an image of a dog in your game. Simply type “dog transparent png,” and you’ll have plenty to choose from.

2. OpenGameArt.org is a tremendous resource for game builders, not only for transparent images, but also for sounds, 2D art, forums and more. Just go to the site and have a look around.

3. Flaticon.com is another great source for free vector icons. They claim to be the largest database of free icons available.

Once you’ve found some cool images, you can download and use them for free in your own apps and games at GoKoji.com
