Servicing clients of rapidly growing startups can be an adventure. In this edition of “Life @ MadHive,” we’ll be following Emma Stejbach, Senior Client Success Associate. Emma joined MadHive one year ago and has quickly become an integral part of our Client Success team. Each day for Emma is unique, but you can typically find her helping onboard MadHive’s newest customers, socializing with coworkers, and enjoying an NYC rooftop or two.

First, a little about Emma:

  • She’s originally from outside of Philadelphia, but currently lives in NYC.
  • In her free time, she likes to explore new restaurants in the city and play tennis on the waterfront.
  • She loves working from coffee shops and testing out new espresso blends. She’s determined to one day find “the perfect latte.”

7:00am
Emma gets out of bed and begins her day with a quick rooftop pilates workout. Her apartment building offers a 360 degree view of the city — taking in East and West Manhattan, the Financial District, and Midtown.

8:30am
After hopping in the shower and getting dressed, Emma heads over to MadHive HQ to start her workday. She always makes sure her to-do list is fully updated each morning, though with MadHive being the fast-paced company it is, she typically rewrites her list at least once a day.

10:30am
Emma sits down with Aaron Brown, Chief Scientist at MadHive, to discuss how they can optimize MadHive’s bidding algorithm to further reduce client CPAs. For a project like this, Emma finds it much more efficient reviewing queries side by side in-person rather than through a virtual screen share.

12:00pm
Stomach grumbling, Emma heads up to the office’s rooftop restaurant with a slew of coworkers. She usually looks forward to eating lunch with Spencer Potts, MadHive President, and whoever else is in-office that day. However, tonight happens to be MadHive’s “Summertime MADness” rooftop party, so there are a few more MadHivers working in-office than usual.

1:00pm
After finishing her meal, Emma joins her team’s weekly Data Solutions meeting. They touch base with Kent Tseng, VP of Data Strategy, and Lan Yu, Data Quality & Platform Stability Manager, to discuss MadHive’s evolving data capabilities and client-centered strategies. The CS team regularly works cross-functionally with many different departments at MadHive.

2:30pm
Emma finds time to walk back up to the office rooftop and soak in more of the nice weather. There she takes a few minutes to reorganize her notes and cross items off her to-do list while sipping an almond milk latte.

6:00pm
After a few hours of juggling client requests and cranking out emails at her desk, Emma returns to the rooftop for the long-awaited Summertime MADness party. There she reunites with work friends she’s not seen since the pandemic began, and meets many of her newer coworkers for the first time. Emma spends the night toasting drinks, snacking on hors d’oeuvres, and even getting her tarot cards read by a fortune teller!

10:00pm
Emma arrives back at her apartment and crosses the last couple of items off her to-do list. To fully decompress, she lights a scented candle from Harlem Candle Co, a gift she received from MadHive to celebrate Black History Month, and uses Prospect Farms Dream Tincture to ensure she sleeps well before another exciting day ahead.

We hope following Emma’s day helped paint a picture of the life of a MadHive client success associate. Like most startups, each day at MadHive is different. Our Client Success team is just one of the many teams we’ll be featuring in this series.
