The Man that Always Ran

I remember when
My dad used to
Take us to Dinosaur Park
The T-Rex
Would roar it’s mighty roar
And we would
Scream in delight
And swing across
Vines as if the
Jungle has sprawled
Out before us
We were tangled in
Giggles on the drive home
As our dad looked
Back at us
With those soft eyes
That seemed to
Draw the world together
And it was if nothing
Would ever seem to
Fall apart
The glow in his eyes
Started to fade
As he just
Became my father
Just a name
And nothing more.
