What is a community? Liked minded people mingle and come up with collective thoughts. Everyone will know or unknowingly will be part of any community. Community in one stand, where you can get all the invisible data of the present trending things. So being part of the community is essential to know who you are. Here I’m sharing my thoughts and importance of a Designer to be part of any Design Community.
Five points take you to the next level when you be part of a design community.
- Know who you are?
- Networking.
- Unschooling.
- Career Knowledge.
- Get Inspire and Aspire.
1. Know who you are?
When you are part of a community of designers. You will know about yourself, and also you can judge yourself that the path you have chosen is correct or need to re-route. You can feel who you are. It helps you to understand your positions, especially the level in which you have progressed. It is not just because you will meet a lot of like-minded people in your same domain. Or I won’t say a comparison of your fellow designers, it will be another way around. It helps you to identify yourself and your abilities.
2. Networking
Most valuable assets of a person are the contacts. To get good contact, you got to build a network. Good network help people to better connections. For a designer, he/she all need is the networking with the same set of people. Networking can be possessed when you be part of the community. By being part of communities you can build a fast network.
3. Unschooling
Favorite of mine. You will always learn the unknown. Whenever you meet the community people, one new thing you will learn when you come out. Cross-domain learning is special. You will un-school it and unlearn things. It breaks the monotonous and gives you compound knowledge.
4. Career Knowledge
Step to take the measure of your career. Though you are part of the community, you will find all kind of experience people inside the community. High chance gets their advice on your career path. Fix a goal and march forward.
5. Inspiring Designers & Aspire
You will be able to interact with all the inspiring designer and top designers of the town. Best part you can travel along them and get inspired. With all the travel inside the community, one day you will aspire your fellow young people and guide them to the better designer. It is a cycle. If you agree or not, it happens. In my personal life, I have seen a lot of young designers come and be part the community. In the end, the aspire the other people.
Why do I share all this, because What I’m now! Is defined by being part of the community. I’m part a creative Design community — Madrasters. Top and active Design & Creative Community in India.
Madrasters has given me whole new life as a Designer. My debt towards Madrasters goes on.
