Hey it was Monday evening, when I got this invite from Madrasters about their upcoming event — UX Design meetup. When I scrolled their page, their agenda read Internet of things and future of interaction design. Surprised as reading the new term curiosity drove me down to the event on Sunday Morning — December 9th 2017.

Speaker for the subject was Siddarth who threw light on the IOT products, it’s pros and cons and some interesting case studies. One such case study is HP Lubricants — Road Safety. How a IOT Product can be designed to road safety measure? They created smart life poles with radar technology that communicates with each other to alert drivers on the both sides of the blind curve with sound of a horn.

After this, the limelight session was shared by two people — Satish Kumar Jain and Ramya Vardhan.

Satish was really ignorant about design when he started his journey. He explains his approach towards every project and starts by thinking how differently he can present the challenge before him. He expresses that while designing we always get carried off by thinking how viral your post is, how many likes and shares we have got. It’s important to drift away from that and start thinking of how uniquely we can implement the design and that should be our area of focus.

Next was Ramya Vardhan a programmer cum Zentangle artist. It was really interesting to see her showcase her works. She has made zentangle alive in the form of alphabets and numbers.

Following the agenda of the day, we had Prabhagaran R, also known as Prob G, is a communication designer and typography enthusiast with a vast experience of more than 10 years. He spoke about 10 years of mobile interactions. He threw light on the future of user interface design over artificial intelligence and designers will be needed to design those platforms.

Appreciating the efforts taken by the entire team of Madrasters to conduct such meetups and workshops where designers of all stages can meet and expand their design knowledge. I wish many more such interesting meetups with this community where we all can share and grow along with each other.

Thanks a million to the core team.
