MADworld presents MADwomen, a digital social impact initiative empowering female talent globally through a connected community. MADworld kicks off by inviting global enterprises and aspirational individuals to participate in a long-term journey to inspire, invest, and support the future generation of youth.

With the debut of MADwomen, MADworld suggests new potentials of how blockchain-enabled philanthropy revolutionizes the way we give back and make an impact in the world around us. “Blockchain empowers digital philanthropy, weaving trust and transparency into the fabric of charitable endeavors, and igniting a revolution of compassion in our interconnected world,” says Kelly Leung, Co-founder of MADworld. Blockchain adds transparency and accountability by securely tracking and storing all donations on a public ledger. Direct transfers of funds from donors to recipients mean minimal processing fees resulting in reduced costs associated with donations. This technology-empowered philanthropy will transform the way we contribute to society with increased trust and efficiency in the donation process.

MADwomen joins hands with Lumiere and the Producer of Houria to share Houria-inspired NFTs as the franchise’s debut collection that demonstrates how digital assets can contribute to social enterprises. Houria, officially selected at the Roma International Film Festival, is a film by acclaimed director Mounia Meddour about a young ballet dancer who overcomes a recent trauma through creating a choreography in sign language with fellow women who have also suffered societal violence. Houria’s producer, Gregoire Gensollen, and Patrice Poujol, CEO and Founder of Lumiere, noted 10% of the profits from these assets would be donated to Femmes Sourdes Citoyennes et Solidaires, a Paris-based non-profit supporting deaf women who have suffered violence, a theme reflected in the film.

On May 18th at “MADwomen in Motion”, an event at the Cannes Film Festival, MADworld celebrates the partnership with Houria and echos the film’s message on the significance of diversity and inclusion with the community. This partnership highlights the importance of promoting greater representation and empowering women of all backgrounds. The project embodies a “phygital” approach, blending physical and digital experiences and allowing the MADwomen community to connect directly with the film team and the non-profit organization. This real-life connection reinforces the digital world’s impact and potential to aid charities and NGOs, says Leung. The event will be filled with a live performance of dancers from the film, distinguished guests, and celebrities as well as renowned media outlets such as Screen, Ecran Total, RollingStone Italy, and Variety who will be there to cover the global sensation that goes across web2 and web3. Gensollen views the event as a chance for attendees to see how cinema can effect change and create a dialogue with representatives of the cause it defends.

Poujol and Lumiere envision a future where the power of decision-making and ownership is distributed among all token holders. “We’re not just building a platform, we’re building a community,” says Poujoj. “By integrating web3 solutions with the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs), we are paving the way for a more inclusive, transparent, and engaging entertainment industry.”

MADworld’s MADwomen offers a vision of innovative charitable endeavors and igniting a revolution of compassion in our interconnected world. Together with the like-minded community, MADwomen aims to unlock exciting opportunities for organisations and individuals to participate in projects that foster a spirit of cooperation and mutual support to help drive awareness across social impact initiatives.
