Midterm proposal

This week, me and Alan chose Arduino to augment which turns it into an Arduino Land.

The idea is to bring Arduino board to live. There are stories happened beyond our vision when the board functions as it supposed to. By augment it, Arduino turns into a different world, the elves’ land. The breadboard turns into a mini-city where elves perform their daily life on the other side of the screen.

For this week, we successfully turn both Arduino and breadboard into a mini-city. There’s a car moving around. The prototype is showing in the below video.

Also, we tried to embed a button to control the lights to turn on and off. When the green light is on, the car goes; likewise, when the red light is on, the car stops. For now, we are only able to connect the port to Unity and be able to read the serial changes.

For the next week, we will continue to work on this project and enhance its environment. In addition, we want to bring in sound effects and more animation to make this land to be more entertaining. The big challenge is also to make the serial communication between Unity and Arduino to work.
