Welcome to Magmo’s Dev Update #2! To recap, at Magmo, we’re working to enable networks of state channels. Our current approach focusses on Nitro protocol, a protocol for state channel networks.
In our last update, we had a rough version of the paper and were seeking feedback from external collaborators. Unfortunately, it turned out that even experts in the field were having problems understanding what we’d written :/. This prompted a bit of a rewrite, with a ton more diagrams added. As we now won’t release the paper until next week, we thought we’d make it up to you by giving you a sneak peek of one of the new sections.
Current Goals
We set goals twice a quarter. Our current goals, for the 15th February, are:
1. Publish the Nitro protocol paper
2. Finish the Nitro protocol smart contracts.
3. Release our ForceMove browser wallet.
4. Release a second ForceMove state channel application (tic-tac-toe).
Progress
Nitro paper: see above. We’re working on a few improvements but should still be on to release next week. Status: almost on-track
Nitro contracts: the v0 nitro contracts are now done. Status: on-track
Browser wallet: the browser wallet is now fully extracted. In the last sprint, we did a load of work to battle-test the wallet and make it more reliable. Status: on-track
Tic-tac-toe: tic-tac-toe is now integrated with the extracted browser wallet. We’re currently putting on the finishing touches, while also working on a tic-tac-toe bot for people to play against at launch. Status: on-track
Please check in in two weeks time for our next update!
