With five years of experience in the garment industry, it was only a matter of time before Sushila’s business started witnessing success. Proper utilisation of the Mahila Money loan is helping her achieve her #JiyoApneDumPe goals.

Discussing the orders to be closed till the day with a cup of tea, the assistants working at this manufacturing unit are the backbone of the business. Sushila Mehra, the 41-year-old entrepreneur, shares what she has gained from running a boutique for four years with the group. Amidst all this, a business manufacturing and selling ladies’ garments in Ajmer is successfully building a story to be passed on to all those willing to mark their space in the business world.

When Sushila dared to venture into the garment manufacturing business a year ago, she ensured that her products were listed on every available online selling platform. “It is convenient to use established platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho rather than put effort and time into building one. Thus, I listed all my products on these so that my business can start generating revenue to cover the expenses,” she says.

Despite her hard work and talent, Sushila struggled to keep her business afloat, unable to compete with the industry’s more prominent, established players. She then decided to expand her business, buy more fabrics and register her company for export, but ‘capital’ was the biggest roadblock for her.

“Running a boutique was fun, but managing a manufacturing unit can be challenging,” shares Sushila.

Her monthly expenses of close to INR 1 Lac included salaries, buying fabrics, and embellishments. “Being a seller at some of the biggest e-commerce sites required us to keep up with the latest fashion trends. I wanted to buy more fabrics and also register my business for export. And all these required CAPITAL,” adds Sushila.

Everything changed when Sushila crossed paths with Mahila Money.

She applied for a loan, and an INR 2 Lac loan was soon approved. With the financial aid she received, Sushila invested in fabrics and the necessary documentation to register her business for export. With the remaining loan amount, she is now ready to take big orders and compete with the big players in the industry. “With capital by the side, my business is back on track, and it is growing bigger daily,” says Sushila with a smile.

Sushila’s journey describes the power of financial aid and its impact on women entrepreneurs’ lives. She is grateful for the support she received from Mahila Money and is determined to continue growing her business and encouraging other women along the way.
