Mainflux Became a Member of Science Technology Park Belgrade
Mainflux became a member of Science Technology Park Belgrade (STP Belgrade) and Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties Belgrade (BITF).
This membership is an additional confirmation of Mainflux technology, but also an excellent opportunity for company further growth within a vibrant and dynamic community which foster development of high-tech companies through the exchange of ideas, contacts and business opportunities.
Established by the Republic Serbia Government, STP Belgrade and BITF mission is to create a favorable environment for developing links between industry and science & research organizations and universities, technology entrepreneurship, innovation commercialization, networking and stimulating growth in the knowledge-based economy.
Mainflux attained membership on the grounds of the application submitted to Serbian Innovation Fund (also the reference institution at STP Belgrade) for development of the MFX-1 IoT Edge gateway powered by The Linux Foundation’s EdgeX Foundry platform.
“For the young company such as ours counseling on available financial instruments at national and international levels, in particular on EU funding opportunities is extremely important”, said Mainflux CEO Janko Isidorovic.
Dejan Mijic, Mainflux CTO emphasized the connection with academic institutions: “We are very interested to connect with higher-education institutions for which STP Belgrade and BITF provide significant support”. “Considering that all members of our team were students and employees of Serbian universities, we are glad that Mainflux can contribute to technology transfer and cooperation between the business and academic communities.”, added Mijic.
Important aspects of STP Belgrade and BITF is support and activities aimed at promotion, networking and internationalization of its member companies.

Science Technology Park Belgrade
STP Belgrade is implemented within the project Science Technology Park Belgrade-the New Export Instrument of Serbia, supported by the Swiss Government (Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO) with the goal to increase exports of high-tech products and services from Serbia.
Located in an exceptional environment of Zvezdara forest in the central zone of Belgrade, and the proximity of relevant institutions and technical faculties, including renewed Mihajlo Pupin Institute, STP Belgrade is a technology core of the city and Serbia in whole, representing a key driver for technological development, innovation and knowledge-based economy.
Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties Belgrade (BITF)
Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties Belgrade (BITF) is a business support organization, established in 2006 in partnership between four technical faculties of the University of Belgrade (Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Technological/Metallurgical), the Municipality of Palilula and the Democratic Transition Initiative, based on the best international experiences.
BITF is constantly working on the developing of technology entrepreneurship by creating new small and medium enterprises in the field of high tech.
