It’s Wednesday, December 12, 2018, welcome to Main & Frame, a recap of the Main things you may have missed, and everything coming into Frame soon.

It’s been a while. Too long, really. We’ve been busy.

Our engineering and product teams have been focused on January deadlines, racing to get the work where it needs to be. Our last several blog posts are focused on tech, with the November update published recently from Head of Product Cahlan Sharp, outlining the impressive progress made recently. Our VP of Engineering also shared an update about Erebos, the JavaScript client library we’ve built to interact with Swarm file storage and communication APIs.

We also announced that Mainframe is joining with Messari for their Open Disclosures Registry, a consortium of blockchain companies committed to making their projects and token info openly available, searchable, and auditable. Standardized and verifiable third-party data allows the public to independently evaluate and compare Mainframe to other projects. And in an industry that has seen its share of shadiness and bad actors, rebalancing the equation to foster more confidence is absolutely the right thing to do. We believe in personal privacy and institutional transparency. ALL of that can be found on our blog.

Other news: We’ve been traveling! There are impressive communities of blockchain developers across South America, and we’d like to meet all of them. We’ve hosted meetups at São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, and Rio de Janeiro, all in Brazil, where several of the Mainframe team are from. Fun fact, several of the Americans on our executive team have lived in Brazil and speak fluent Portuguese, including founder Mick Hagen, CTO Carl Youngblood, and Head of Product Cahlan Sharp. After meetups there, the team was on to Buenos, Aires Argentina, but couldn’t stay long before heading on to Santiago Chile for the final stop of this trip. We’ve had fantastic turnout, and you know Mainframe likes to host a good time.

Santiago was also home to LaBitConf, the largest blockchain conference in South America, where our founder Mick Hagen spoke about the vision for Mainframe, the broad strokes of what we’re building, why we’re building it, and why the world needs it.

The Mainframe movement will succeed with boots-on-the-ground community all over the world. We know that’s critical, and intend to do everything we can to foster, encourage, and support those communities. Expect to see more meetups and events, hopefully near you soon.

In addition to growing our community, the core team at Mainframe is growing, with new hires in engineering, product, and accounting. And as such, we outgrew our old offices. So, during and after the American Thanksgiving Holiday, we migrated over to a bigger space. It’s still… coming together. But we’ve got plenty of room to grow, collaborate, and accelerate the work. We’ll share more of the space when it’s all finished.

Plus all those meetups in Brazil were no accident. We haven’t published it online yet, but anybody who attended our Brazil meetups will know, we’re opening a Brazilian office! And we’re looking for the best talent to join our team. If you’re in Brazil near São Paulo, or willing to relocate, OR if you’re a brilliant programmer elsewhere in the world, we want to hear from you.

Head over to Mainframe.com/Jobs for a full list of open positions, and keep checking back, as we’re always expanding.

And that’s it for now, team. Get real-time updates of all the news and events across our social channels. We’ll talk with you again soon.
