Mainstage Gaming Network

Summary / TL;DR:
Summer is almost here! In May, we declared several champions in our leagues, opened registration for summer and fall competition, and grew our team:

  1. Tri-county (SC) High School League: Congratulations to Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill, SC for securing first place.
  2. Charlotte Independence (ECNL): Our first season is complete and we are scaling to 100+ players for season 2 of Rocket League.
  3. Carolina Conference: Contracts are in and we are excited to announce Clemson University and congratulate Winthrop University.

Tri-county High School League:

We are extremely excited to announce Nation Ford High School as the Grand Champion of the first-ever Mainstage Gaming Network High School Esports League!!

Highlights from this season:

  • 100+ gamers
  • 5 High Schools in SC
  • $2,000+ in scholarships dollars won
  • 2 students offered opportunities to play esports as athletes at local universities

We wish all our high school gamers an incredible summer and look forward to a massive season with more high schools and competition in the Fall!

Charlotte Independence

Our Alpha test league has wrapped and was an absolute success! We capped the test at 24 participants (8-teams) playing Rocket League. Next season will be our Beta test league and will consist of 120 participants across 32-teams!

We plan to use data from the test leagues to most effectively define the approach to open registration to all Charlotte Independence players and scale to new clubs.

Carolina Conference

Contracts are in from participating universities and colleges! One late, but exciting, addition to the competition is Clemson University! Rivalries are already forming and we have some serious competitors in the mix — for example, Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC) was recently declared national League of Legends College Champions for 2021.

Winthrop University League of Legends Team

Winthrop was one of the first universities to sign up for the Carolina Conference and we congratulate this team on their tremendous accomplishment! Competition is slated to begin in September 2021, and we can’t wait to get things started.

Our Team and Community

We have been growing like crazy and have been searching for team members with experience in gaming and competition to join our most immediate needs for our large accounts. We are excited to announce we have brought on our first Competition Manager, Cody Smith!!

Cody Smith, Competition Manager at Mainstage Gaming Network

Cody is an indie-game lover and streams much of his indie adventures on Twitch! He is also a hardcore Rocket League player. When he’s not gaming, Cody loves to travel, the outdoors, and photography.

We are so excited to have him on board and a part of Mainstage Gaming Network! Follow him here:

We are still growing! Follow us on LinkedIn to see job opportunities. Most immediately, we are looking to hire more Competition Managers to work with organizations in different regions and support their gaming events and leagues. We will soon have posts for Front End Engineers, Back End Engineers, QA Engineers, and Product Design as we build out our technology team!
