When we invite a bell, when we pour tea into the cup — we can think of these as mechanical acts. But one can find concentration, loving kindness and insight behind each of these acts.

Whenever certain act is performed mindfully, that act becomes a way of communicating with cosmos. Because cosmos doesn’t differentiate between washing dishes and lighting incense stick, we can use every act as a way of communicating with cosmos. Indeed this is the only way we can communicate with cosmos. How else can we — apart from our thoughts, words and deeds? We can communicate our love and compassion through daily acts and it will surely get expressed in the grand scheme of things.

Looking deeply, we see that thoughts, words and deeds can’t be separated. We can’t pin down a location and say — this is where thought ends and action begins. To think is to already act. What actions are we bringing forth? What sort of things are we expressing to cosmos?
