Threat to humanity…

The greatest threat to humanity is not so much from our weapons and wars. It is from the ideologies, formalisms and viewpoints which pertain to religion, sciences and philosophy that claim that there is only one ultimate truth and their ideology – and their ideology alone! – provides the only means to attain it. Cities and countries can be destroyed in months, but ideologies stay with us for centuries and millennia, destroying within us the sacred possibility of reconciliation with the other members of our tribe, depriving the sacred spirit of connection and compassion towards our fellow brothers and sisters. Anytime we encounter an ideology or formalism that promises us some heavenly afterlife or private access to truth in return for the dogma they instill – we should discard it immediately, before it infects our whole being and poison our thoughts irreversibly. Our responsibility is to protect our hearts from anything that instills discrimination in us towards our fellow brothers and sisters and other sentient beings.
